Alison Matera, DWS
Alison Matera is the general manager of Riverside Wine & Spirits. She has been in the wine industry since 1994 and joined the Riverside team in July 2006. Alison has earned a level four Diploma from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and is a member of the International Sommelier Guild. She has been a freelance writer for several local publications in her town including, City Scope and Chatter magazine and is frequently hired to appraise wine cellars for local Estate Appraisers. She also spends a lot of time conducting wine education seminars for charity events, restaurant servers, wine wholesale/retail employees and private individuals. Alison has been the wine buyer and wine/beverage director in various fine dining establishments in Chattanooga. She has traveled to several different wine regions in France, South Africa, Italy, Germany, Austria and California.
Eric is the Spirits Director at Riverside. He found his love of spirits while living in 10 states in the last 5 years, often stopping at distilleries and breweries on his travels. More than happy to share knowledge and learn new information, he will help you find a dram for any occasion.
Jamie started out in the hospitality industry. He worked as a host, server, bartender and manager at the Southside Grill and then moved to the CGCC where he served as a dining room manager and assistant director of service. Jamie joined the Riverside in 2007. Jamie enjoys cooking and playing trivia with his friends.
Robyn left the corporate world and joined the Riverside team part-time in early 2016 after deciding that a 40-hour/week desk job didn’t align with her the healthy lifestyle she wanted. She traded learning about stocks and bonds for the more tasteful world of wine, beer and spirits. Her ever expanding palate has only increased her job satisfaction. She loves that the active aspect of the job helps her stay fit for her pursuit of her outdoor passions of rock climbing and running with her husband, Rob, and fur baby, Whipper.
Tommy has been a craft beer enthusiasts for over a decade and involved in the retail side of the industry for many years. He enjoys IPA, Sours, Strong Ale and Barrel-Aged Beers. Tommy spends his free time researching new beer and upcoming breweries. He loves cooking, playing disc golf and creating his homemade mead honey wine.
